I feel like I am gradually settling down here in Tokyo. I have met lots of people, including ones I continue to be in touch with, though I haven’t met special ones, ベスト友達とか or ones that I got to share physical acquaintance with. While delaying the new mission to every next week, now it comes a sincere need for a proper daily routine. Recently, I Tim Ferriss’ blog caught my sight, perhaps igniting another of those life value consideration shifting moments. Maybe my ideals had been aligned with his all along, but utilizing his proposed concept of daily diet procedure and language acquisition, I have came to revise my daily schedule and try my best to adhere to it.

First, in regards to my current language curriculum,
* No matter how much you get affluent with a certain language, it means nothing if you are not going to use it, for I am scrutinizing my habits as well as likely conversations I would have in ideal situations.
* Today, I was at 300 bar in Ginza. I ended up talking to few random people, discussing various subjects. Though sometimes it feels like drinking for pleasure end up turning into another Japanese conversation lesson, I am learning(practicing) and enjoying at the same time. How better could it be? So, hoping for a better drinking bar experience the next time, I would concentrate on specific phrases and topics I had experienced tonight. Those are: explaining my long story of how I got here, my upcoming plans, jobs I am looking into. Few other general conversational topics have been touched including: World economy and relative Japanese economic condition, Japanese tourists in Korea, fun things to do around, and the golden week what did you do kinda stuff. Finally, few questions that always comes up are in regards to my relationship status, family whereabouts, et cetera. Just like, preparing for job interviews, I feel it will be more effective to prepare a some sort of script template so that I can concentrate on attaining 95% comprehension while being prepared for 100% expressive abilities.
* One more, the likely situations which I hope for every time I go out, are possibly a chance to chat, even pick up a gorgeous native. So, considering all factors of uncertainty, why not stay prepared with another script set, for any unexpected opportunities that may arise.

As life is one time opportunity, I have decided that next coming year or two be spent in Japan, to experience the new cultural environment and way of life. Therefore, my job search in Japan began with attending the CFN career forum. Whatever the outcome may be, it was such a valuable experience seeing how recruitment process is carried out in Japan, as well as companies of various industries present themselves and search for their needs. On the other hand, looking into myself, it became more clear of what I want in my life and what to be done specifically in order to express my credentials attractive to the companies. Nevertheless, for once, I realized how difficult it is to carry out interviews in a foreign language, especially the one that I have only few months to prepare with. However, in order to seize the chance, I need to become a fast learner with a precise insight on what is forthcoming. As amazing it was to see how much language skills I had acquired within a past month, for that alone, this interview trip was a valuable experience. 頑張ってね～

It is almost time for which I should decide what I am going to do with my life starting next year. Lately, I started seeking for job opportunities abroad, and I figured Japan would be a good place to start. So, I have worked on the Japanese version of my curriculum vitae for past few days and here it is. I am planning on attending this career fair in Tokyo in July, thanks to CFN; moreover, London, Dubai and Beiruit are few alternatives I have in mind for possible destinations. Just in case, any recruiters come by and find it interesting, please do make a contact. ともありがとう。よろしくお願いします～

What does it means to be a true artist? In my definition, a true artist has to not only be able to move the audiences’ feelings, whether it is through visualization or a performance, and also be inspiring at the same time, perhaps leading them to some sort of epiphany. In modern popular culture, we hardly find a true talent which restrains its artistic forms from commercialism. Good singers may sing well and write well-harmonized melodies, but the magic of lyrics is not something many possess. Words have as much emotional power, and therefore, poetry, literature, et cetera are commonly referred as Language Arts because it is part of what it takes for a true art form to be accomplished. No offense, but most of so-called “artists” in modern popular culture are under-educated, some even illiterate. All they ever want to talk about is how to bang or get banged, earn money and do what?, as simple as that. Not to criticize any specific targets as I try to have my blog stand neutral at most times nor attack public figures, but this is just how much I would like to start praising this artist; her name is Shiina Ringo(椎名 林檎) Not only she is a great performer of creativity with full of energy and emotion, an expert at various instruments and genres, her songs are filled with deep meanings and symbolisms, open to various interpretation. Coming from a strong advocate of her own culture, Shiina’s songs truly elaborates against common perceptions of Japanese language’s simplicity and dullness, again no offense^^;, and part of the reason which makes one to learn the language in order to better understand alternative perspectives. I thought this only happens towards authors of great literature, though it can be said that hers is also a kind of literary works.
